"Do what you loved when you were a kid," my dad always told me... To my amusement, I discovered that I always wanted to be behind the camera - even at 14 months old. It got to the point where my mom eventually had to be very discrete while recording our home videos so I wouldn't come crawling after her to take over the video-recording camera.

Although I've grown since the ripe age of one, the innate passion and child-like desire to be behind the camera is even stronger now.

I'm happiest when adventuring with my incredible couples, families, and seniors in the beautiful PNW and around the world. I love what I do and cannot wait to get in touch with you!

What I value most out of photography and my biggest reason why I became a photographer and videographer is to document your fleeting moments and capture special memories you'll cherish forever. I believe that your story is important and should be captured with utmost intention.

As someone who is wired with 1-on-1 interactions, I crave building deeper relationships with people and creating lifelong friendships with my #MPV couples, families, and seniors. My camera is a tool that allows me to preserve, connect, and show people the beauty of life through my lens.

Working with Melanie.Co will not only provide you and your growing family with captivating heirlooms to hang on the walls of your home; I'm ready to give you my all and share your story in its best light while also providing you and your loved ones with an adventure, a friendship, a connection, and sometimes even a therapy session through photography and conversation.

My Why.

my philosophy

I was always trying to find ways to express my creativity - whether I was drawing on myself with permanent ink when I was 2 years old or performing in musical theatre and choir or creating YouTube videos, I longed for a creative outlet!

At the University of Washington, I had to put that expressive creativity to the side. I studied business marketing and data analytics at the Foster School of Business and was told that in order to be successful, I had to work in a Fortune 500 company. After the tragedy in 2016, everything came into perspective and it became very clear what I felt called to do. I didn't want to fit the mold of a business school student who would go off to pursue that linear career - it was never in my DNA. I wasn't money hungry like everyone else. Instead, I longed for creativity and connection, so I felt like I didn't belong in business school.

My camera was my saving grace through both obtaining my degree and coping with the loss of such a dear friend.

I graduated 6 months early from the University of Washington in 2019 and received a full-time job offer at a full service sign company, as their go-to marketer, photographer, and videographer. Working with a team of designers has allowed me to develop a keen designer's eye while also improving my skills as a photographer and videographer. I'm forever thankful for obtaining my degree which gave me a full-time job opportunity that has fueled the growth of Melanie.Co.
